Tectonic Boundaries and Mountains
The 3 Types of Boundaries
The three types of boundaries are convergent, divergent and transform; these three boundaries are just the different ways that the plates move. Convergent boundaries are two types of plates, oceanic and continental plates colliding and forcing the more dense oceanic plate down towards the core. Divergent boundaries are tectonic plate tearing away from each other. This then causes magma to rise and cause new crust. This is the number one way for new crust to be formed . Transform boundaries are tectonic plates moving side by side. When these two plate catch on to each other they start to build up energy while trying to move, once this energy is released, earthquakes are made.
Mountains
Mountains are created by plates either folding, faulting, rising on other plates. Fold mountains are formed when two plates hit each other at such force that the weaker plate folds to create a mountain. Block mountains are formed when tectonic plates collide with each other this then causes one plate rises over the other to create a mountain. Fault mountains are formed when tectonics plates move; this causes fault lines in the plates to rise create mountains. Volcanic mountains are caused when tectonic plates move and make volcanoes. These volcanoes then erupt and they spit out molten rock which make volcanic mountains
